Anxiety is a feeling of intense worry or preoccupation with a perceived threat. Everyone experiences anxiety, whether it occurs as they face the first day at a new job or a new circumstance, and they push through it, knowing it will resolve.

Sometimes anxiety persists and apprehension intensifies. At this point, anxiety becomes overwhelming and you may try to control the intense feelings by avoiding the situation or people that trigger anxiety.
